Balenciaga opens The Subtleties of a Dialogue exhibition in Paris
The exhibition showcases archive pieces by Cristóbal Balenciaga and couture designs by Demna
The fashion house Balenciaga has unveiled its new exhibition, The Subtleties of a Dialogue, at the Kering headquarters in Paris. The display features archive pieces from the brand’s founder, Cristóbal Balenciaga, alongside couture designs by the current creative director, Demna.
The exhibition blends new works from the brand with archival silhouettes by the legendary Spanish couturier. The connection lies in the fact that Cristóbal was once considered a revolutionary and a pioneer, a role now fulfilled by Demna.
The space is divided into six themes: “The Collar,” “Sleeves,” “Hourglass Silhouette,” “The Color Black,” and a section titled “Dialogues,” which directly compares the works of the two visionary creative directors.
In celebration of the 41st edition of European Heritage Days, the exhibition will be open for free public viewing on September 21 and 22 at the Kering headquarters in Paris.
