Hublot and Takashi Murakami unveil a sapphire glass watch-sculpture
“Smiling Flower” radiating with 444 precious gems
Swiss watchmaking powerhouse Hublot and Japanese artist Takashi Murakami have revealed an extraordinary timepiece: the MP-15 Takashi Murakami Tourbillon Sapphire Rainbow. Blending contemporary art and horological expertise, this exclusive model is crafted as a sculpture that embodies Murakami’s iconic vision.

The design draws inspiration from Murakami’s signature motif, the Smiling Flower, brought to life in sapphire glass and adorned with 444 multicolored precious gemstones. Each petal is made of titanium and set with rubies, sapphires, amethysts, topazes, and tsavorites, creating a dazzling interplay of colors and light that animates the composition.

The MP-15 is Hublot’s first watch to feature a central tourbillon, with the movement’s caliber seemingly floating in midair to enhance the feeling of weightlessness and lightness. The tourbillon is engraved with two sparkling eyes and a smile, which come alive with every glance.
This 42mm model is a limited-edition release of just 20 pieces. Its transparent strap, featuring Murakami’s signature motif, and its sapphire glass case with titanium accents highlight the watch’s innovative spirit.
