Dior’s latest exhibition, En Route, is set to take place at the Apostolic Library of the Vatican, celebrating the intertwining of fashion and travel. This marks the first solo exhibition by Maria Grazia Chiuri, organized in collaboration with the Chanakya School of Craft and its director, Karishma Swali.
The project explores the historical relationship between women, fashion, and exploration, focusing on six pioneering female travelers of the late 19th century who defied Victorian-era cultural norms.
"These women traveled the world on bicycles that weighed nearly 200 pounds, making corsets the first thing they discarded," Chiuri explains. The exhibition traces the evolution of travel attire, mapping the journeys of these trailblazing women while showcasing embroidery and textiles reflective of their destinations.
