Today marks the most anticipated fashion event of the year – the Met Gala 2025 in New York City. This year's theme pays tribute to Black dandyism, exploring its origins, evolution, and lasting impact on contemporary fashion.

Guests of the Met Gala are already filling the luxury suites of The Mark and The Carlyle hotels as they prepare to walk the red carpet. Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Museum is finishing its latest exhibition, which officially opens to the public on May 10 and will run through October 26.

The exhibition is inspired by Monica Miller's seminal book Slaves to Fashion and delves into how style played a vital role in shaping Black identity across the Atlantic diaspora. Miller, the first Black woman to curate a show at the Costume Institute, gave CBS an exclusive tour, revealing the depth and transformation of dandyism over time.
