The Women in Tech Global Summit 2025 brought together over 400 participants from more than 50 countries. Held in Osaka, Japan, the summit was a landmark event both for the international tech community and for Uzbekistan. The country confidently presented itself as an emerging innovation hub of Central Asia and an active contributor to the global dialogue on digital equality.

A key highlight was the presentation of the prestigious Youth Engagement Award to Women in Tech Uzbekistan. This international recognition reflects Uzbekistan’s efforts in supporting and engaging young people, especially women, in the digital economy. The award underscores the country’s strong commitment to fostering female leadership and advancing youth initiatives in the IT sector.

“Participating in the Women in Tech Global Summit in Osaka marks a pivotal moment for Uzbekistan in promoting the role of women in technology and acknowledging our efforts to establish the country as a regional IT hub. Over the years, our focus has not only been on equipping women with advanced digital skills but also empowering them to actively shape the future of our economy. Winning the Youth Engagement Award serves as a significant recognition of our dedication to supporting youth and engaging women in the digital economy. This recognition motivates us to move forward with even greater energy and responsibility”, said Kamola Sobirova, Advisor to the Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Summit participants also visited Uzbekistan’s pavilion at World Expo 2025, which was included in the exclusive Innovation Trail route, alongside the pavilions of the USA, Germany, France, and Japan. The initiatives presented, along with the cultural context, enhanced Uzbekistan’s image, not only as a rising IT hub but also as a modern, open, and forward-looking country with sustainable development strategies across various sectors.

“Uzbekistan demonstrates how diverse individuals can collectively shape a society rooted in respect, equality, and shared values. While changing established systems may be difficult, the true strength lies in cultivating youth with an inherent sense of inclusion from the outset. This helps create a healthy and equitable society”, emphasized Anna Ambrozevich, Director of Women in Tech Uzbekistan.

The summit marked a significant step in the global movement toward gender equality in the digital space. As part of the event, Uzbekistan signed the Osaka Protocol – an international agreement aimed at supporting women in the digital world. This step serves as both a symbolic statement and a concrete call to action to create equal opportunities for women in tech.

The country continues to strengthen its position on the global stage, actively collaborating with the international community to build an inclusive digital economy and ensure equal opportunities for women. Uzbekistan is confidently moving forward, affirming its commitment to leadership in the global tech agenda.
