France through the eyes of an Uzbek photographer
From July 3 to 12, 2024, an exhibition by photographer Bobur Alimkhodjaev will be held at the Tashkent House of Photography.
The exhibition, titled “France Through the Eyes of an Uzbek Photographer,” is organized by the Embassy of France in Uzbekistan in collaboration with the State Dance Ensemble “Bahor” named after Mukarram Turgunbaeva.
Photographer Bobur Alimkhodjaev has passionately and precisely captured 44 photographs reflecting various iconic places in France. The childhood of the young photographer was spent in the same neighborhood as renowned visual artists of Uzbekistan such as Chingiz Akhmarov, Javlon Umarbekov, Bahodir Jalolov, and sculptor Damir Ruzibaev. Alimkhodjaev drew inspiration from the impressionist works of great masters, particularly Monet, Manet, Degas, and Renoir.

Bobur Alimkhodjaev graduated from the National Institute of Arts and Design named after Kamoliddin Behzod. His fascination with impressionism and studying works by Claude Monet, Édouard Manet, Edgar Degas, and Renoir inspired Bobur. He prefers to capture the art of choreography, inspired by Edgar Degas’s works, which skillfully conveyed the elegance and beauty of classical dance and dancers.

During his time in France, he visited several museums, including the Orangerie to admire Claude Monet’s “Water Lilies,” the Musée d’Orsay, which features works by Edgar Degas illustrating the art of ballet, the Pompidou Center, the Rodin Museum, and the Picasso Museum.
Some of the featured works were shot on film, emphasizing his desire to recreate the genuine atmosphere of the captured locations authentically.
