The Hat will speak

In the upcoming HBO series adapting all seven Harry Potter books, special attention will be given to the Sorting Hat. The creators promise that the Sorting Ceremony will be shown in greater detail. Viewers will get to see how the Sorting Hat makes its decisions – taking into account a student’s personality, desires, and inner qualities. The Hat will be portrayed as a sentient magical artifact, capable of assessing not only talents but also the character and moral compass of each student – an aspect largely overlooked in the original films.
