Cannes Film Festival 2026 opens. First looks from the red carpet

The 79th Cannes Film Festival is officially open. From May 12 to 23, Cannes once again becomes the main destination for world cinema, major premieres and, of course, the red carpet — where fashion has long spoken just as loudly as the films themselves.

The opening ceremony took place at the Grand Théâtre Lumière, with actresses, jury members, directors and industry legends among the first guests of the festival. From classic Hollywood elegance to bold couture forms, from shimmering sequins to sculptural gowns, the first appearances have already set the tone for the festival.
