New Romantics. MITHRIDATE presents SS27 at London Fashion Week
For Spring/Summer 2027, MITHRIDATE turns to the aesthetics of the New Romantics and 1980s London. Creative Director Daniel Fletcher found his starting point in the legendary Blitz Club — a space where fashion became a form of self-expression and existed beyond conventional rules.
This idea defines the new collection. Victorian and Edwardian military references meet theatrical costumes, ballet-inspired elements and contemporary tailoring. Corsets, tulle, feathers and bubble-hem dresses appear alongside micro shorts, oversized jackets and relaxed denim.
Proportion and colour also play a central role: hot pink is paired with scarlet, cornflower blue with emerald green, and navy with black. MITHRIDATE’s signature numerical motifs appear across leather details and accessories, while prints inspired by West End theatre advertisements add another layer to the collection.
Despite its clear references to the 1980s, SS27 never feels nostalgic. For Fletcher, the legacy of the New Romantics becomes a way to revisit ideas of freedom, individuality and the possibility of interpreting clothes on one’s own terms.
