Richard Quinn Brings Fashion Back to the Ballroom
For his new collection, the designer revisits 1980s glamour and turns getting dressed into a ritual of its own
For Richard Quinn, the evening begins long before entering the ballroom. In Spring Summer 2027, the designer turns his attention to the act of getting dressed itself — that moment in front of the mirror when a dress, jewellery and makeup gradually come together to create a complete look.
The Mirrored Garden takes us back to the unapologetic glamour of the 1980s. Corsets define the waist, exaggerated shoulders bring structure to the silhouette, while voluminous skirts and evening gowns revive the sense of deliberate occasion that fashion spent years trying to leave behind.
Black and ivory give way to lacquer red, pink, powder blue and rich jewel tones. Richard Quinn’s signature florals are here too, this time accompanied by Swarovski crystals, statement jewellery and mirrored details.
The result is less about nostalgia for the 1980s and more about rediscovering the pleasure of dressing beautifully without needing a reason to do so.
