Ascot scarves and coin belts in the new Enfants Riches Déprimés collection
For Spring Summer 2027, Enfants Riches Déprimés combines restrained tailoring, distressed textures and surreal accessories to create an aesthetic of quiet provocation
Henri Alexander Levy explores an aesthetic of quiet provocation, where outward composure conceals inner tension. The Enfants Riches Déprimés show took place at Christie’s in Paris, set against works by Antoni Tàpies, loaned by the artist’s foundation. Their expressive textures, deliberately rough marks and cracked surfaces set the tone for a collection defined by imperfect beauty and a sense of suspended time.

The season’s protagonists belong to a generation that has learned to experience emotions at a distance, keeping upheaval at the margins of their own world. Levy explores the tension between innocence and vice, presenting redemption not as a renunciation of past mistakes, but as a way of learning to coexist with them. Womenswear tailoring takes centre stage, balancing formal precision with an artistic softness. Rather than relying on bold colours, the palette moves through midnight blue, cream, grey and peach, accented by bronze, burgundy and near-black brown tones. Leather outerwear takes on a relaxed character through unlined construction, asymmetrical lapels and contrasting stitching. Japanese denim is paired with lightweight wool, linen and silk, creating a compelling interplay of textures. Ascot scarves, coin belts and signature metal details become understated symbols of power that needs no display.

The accessories heighten the collection’s surrealist undertones: a bag shaped like a primitive cage is cast in bronze, while a book, scissors, a knife and an oversized baby figurine are crafted from 925 sterling silver.
