A documentary to be made about Princess Diana’s wedding dress
The film will tell the story behind its creation
A documentary about Princess Diana’s wedding dress is in the works. The film, titled Secrets of Diana’s Wedding Dress, will feature designers David and Elizabeth Emanuel telling the full story, for the first time, of how a young Diana Spencer called them and asked, “Would you like to make my wedding dress?”, a question that changed their lives and careers forever.
In 1981, David and Elizabeth were a young design duo, fresh graduates of the Royal College of Art. Diana had heard of the Emanuels and asked them to create a gown worthy of a fairytale princess. The making of what would become known as the “dress of the century” was filled with memorable, often humorous moments, which the designers share throughout the film.
