«A Matter of Radiance»

As part of the 19th International Architecture Biennale in Venice, the National Pavilion of Uzbekistan has opened with the exhibition “A Matter of Radiance.” The project is initiated by the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation, led by Gayane Umerova, and curated by the architectural bureau GRACE. It is dedicated to the Sun Institute of Material Science – a unique scientific complex built in 1987.

The exhibition explores this complex both as part of Uzbekistan's modernist heritage and as a relevant platform for a sustainable future. The display includes works by artists, designers, and researchers, featuring video installations, archival artifacts, and even a functioning solar furnace. The pavilion is part of a broader program highlighting Uzbekistan’s environmental focus in its Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy.
