Inside the First-Ever Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Azerbaijan

Three days of fashion, art, and technology – that’s how the first international MBFW Azerbaijan unfolded in Baku. From May 15 to 17, the Azerbaijani capital confidently claimed its place as a new fashion destination on the global map.
The event was organized by the Azerbaijan Fashion Designers Association with strategic support from Mercedes-Benz. The spirit of the iconic brand set an innovative tone for the week: runway shows were held at the ultra-modern Abşeron Avtomobil Mərkəzi showroom, transformed under the #MAR20x concept – a new take on brand experience.
The MBFW Azerbaijan program featured runway shows by designers from across the globe, art installations, and jewelry showrooms. Each day of the event had a distinct artistic theme – Renaissance, Pop Art, and Expressionism. The venue was adorned with AI-generated projections, while the atmospheric decor was curated by the S Design agency.

The grand opening was marked by a performance from tenor Atesh Qarayev of the Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. On day two, the stage was taken over by Fahree, Azerbaijan’s Eurovision 2024 entrant.

Among the lineup were celebrated designers from Turkey, Belarus, Italy, Georgia, Israel, and Kazakhstan – including Ziya Kocaturk, T.Efremova & Irra, Emilio Bonadio, Blikvanger & Idividi, Vague, Rox Nassenova, Black Queen, and Papilio by Alena Goretskaya Local brands also had a strong presence. A special exhibition titled Azerbaijan Fashion & Art showcased collections from Muse Me, The Tothu, Parcha Studio, Gaga Factory, Dova 24, Sultan Couture, Natavan Aliyeva, Sameera, and Kaftan, along with art pieces by visual artist Elnara Nasirli.Jewelry labels including Nino Sepo, Narmeen Jewelry, Vira Plotnikova, Co.Lab, and Turkish house Panghia presented their latest creations at MBFW. The fashion palette was rounded out with an exclusive showcase of the Adidas for Mercedes-Benz collection – a stylish dialogue between fashion and innovation.

The debut of MBFW Azerbaijan proved one thing: Baku is ready to become a new hub for fashion and culture in the region – a space where design, technology, art, and creative energy converge.
