Breast Cancer Awareness Day
The ELLE Oʻzbekiston team, together with OncoSchool by Djamila Polatova, held an event dedicated to timely diagnosis and prevention of the disease
Breast Cancer Awareness Day is observed worldwide on October 15. In honor of this event, the ELLE Oʻzbekiston team, in collaboration with OncoSchool by Djamila Polatova, organized an open event dedicated to the timely diagnosis and prevention of the disease. Together with medical professionals, we explored why early diagnosis and detection of breast cancer can make the disease entirely treatable.
Invited experts explained how breast cancer forms, what the first symptoms are, what risk factors exist, and how it can be detected early on. Additionally, the doctors from OncoSchool shared clinical cases and answered the guests’ questions.
“Breast Cancer Awareness Day is not just a date on the calendar, but an important moment for unity, support, and raising awareness. This day reminds us of the strength of women and the importance of sharing our stories and supporting one another.
The key focus in combating this disease is prevention. Timely diagnosis not only improves the outcome of treatment but can also save lives. It’s vital that every woman understands the necessity of regular screenings like mammograms and consultations with a doctor.
Let’s come together to support those fighting this illness and actively take care of our health by undergoing preventive check-ups in a timely manner,” noted the founder of OncoSchool by Djamila Polatova, Djamila Polatova.
Prevention and timely diagnosis are crucial in the fight against breast cancer, as they not only increase the effectiveness of treatment but can also save lives. Breast cancer detected at an early stage significantly increases the chances of a full recovery. Therefore, it is essential for every woman to understand the importance of regular screenings, such as mammograms, and timely visits to a doctor.
OncoSchool by Djamila Polatova is a project created by oncologist Dr. Djamila Shagayratovna Polatova. The idea behind the school is to provide the country’s doctors with additional education in oncology according to international standards. Moreover, the project includes work to inform the population, cancer patients, and their families about the disease, helping them gain knowledge from firsthand sources, thus increasing the chances of successful treatment.
We would like to thank the premium water company Ocard for providing water to the participants and doctors during the open lecture by OncoSchool by Djamila Polatova and ELLE Oʻzbekiston.
