Brooches have been a decorative item of clothing since the Bronze Age. In 2024, designers continue the trend of accessories that can transform outfits by using them as complementary pieces.

Large brooches with unusual shapes are more relevant than ever. They can resemble melted jewelry or take the form of flowers, birds, and animals.

Adding a touch of variety, accessories in the shape of body parts are making waves. Hands make the most mundane outfit stand out as if holding the fabric in place. Schiaparelli frequently turns to this stylistic choice, incorporating ears and lips as well. Blumarine, on the other hand, adorned dresses with golden butterfly brooches.

Flowers have become part of the looks for Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana. Chanel complemented tweed dresses with red-orange flowers, while Dolce & Gabbana added them to structured jackets and dresses with collared shirts. Coach offered their interpretation with brooches in the form of spiders, dinosaurs, and flies in their Spring-Summer 2024 collection.
