Chanel
Environmental initiatives

Chanel is launching a center for the production of circular materials. The advantage of this development lies in the fact that such materials can be reused and recycled multiple times. The project, named Nevold, is led by Sophie Brocart, a former CEO of Patou.
The brand already uses recycled leather in 30% of its handbags and 50% of its footwear. The new division will consolidate Chanel’s existing environmental initiatives, including L’Atelier des Matières and Filatures du Parc, and will focus on scaling up recycling processes. The company also plans to collaborate with other luxury brands and create high-quality items from recycled fabrics, such as sportswear or uniforms for hotel staff.
