Chanel introduces the Spring-Summer 2025 collection
The first show without Virginie Viard
Chanel’s first show since the departure of Virginie Viard took place at the Grand Palais, which had been under renovation for four years. The palace, a favorite of the brand, has hosted its shows since 2005.
The design team presented a lineup of suits with jackets, vests, skirts, and shorts made from tweed. Jumpsuits, dresses, and sundresses were also crafted from this iconic fabric. The pieces featured decorative collars with feathers, fringe, accent piping, and raw edges.
Romantic blouses made of sheer fabrics and elongated white shirts complemented the looks. Black velvet ribbons tied into bows served as belts, securing capes in place.
A birdcage became the key element of the set design. Riley Keough performed Prince’s «When Doves Cry» inside it, a nod to Chanel’s 1991 ad where Vanessa Paradis swung inside a cage under the dome.
