Exhibition by Dina Khodzhaeva-Penson
"Photographs without retakes"

The Central Exhibition Hall is hosting a showcase dedicated to the work of Dina Khodzhaeva-Penson, titled “Photographs without retakes”. Dina Maksovna began her journey in photography during childhood, learning from her father, the renowned photographer Max Penson. She later worked as an assistant to film director Malik Kayumov and as a photojournalist for Uzbek Television. Alongside her husband, documentary filmmaker Fayzulla Khodzhaev, she contributed to numerous photo features, including for the iconic Soviet magazines “Ogonek” and “Smena”.
After the 1966 earthquake, she took it upon herself to rescue, restore, and archive her father’s photographic legacy. Her own body of work captures the cultural life of Uzbekistan, portraits of prominent figures, and impressions from her travels in Europe.
The exhibition opened on July 1 at 5:00 PM.
