Gastronomic logomania
Fashion houses create unique cafés and restaurants where style becomes a part of flavor
The trend of “logomania” has also reached gastronomic spots: many fashion brands now have their own cafés and restaurants.
Gucci Osteria
Gucci Osteria is a network of contemporary Italian restaurants located in various cities worldwide, each with its own unique identity. They share a culinary philosophy driven by seasonality, creativity, elegance, humor, and sensuality, drawing inspiration from these elements.
For the traveling chef, cooking also holds a sacred significance. While away from home, the chef feels connected to their homeland through their cuisine, with nostalgia being a “key element” in transforming their dishes and creating a link to the past. For instance, in the risotto disguised as pizza at Gucci Osteria Beverly Hills, Italian chef Mattia Agazzi combines techniques from around the world to transform iconic Italian pizza into equally iconic Italian risotto. This dish speaks a language understood by visitors to Beverly Hills from all over the world, while simultaneously reminding them of their homeland, Italy.
In addition to the obvious association with the brand, there is another big name: Massimo Bottura. The star of Italian cuisine (a famous chef) who helped create the menu for Gucci Osteria. For the most part, the food is memorable for its stunning presentation rather than its striking flavors. However, there are a few dishes that provide both, such as grilled artichokes with a white farm egg and truffle shavings. And don’t forget the excellent bread served with whipped ricotta and butter shaped like a Gucci bee.
In another part of the world, in Tokyo, chef Antonio Iacoviello honors his father by preparing parmigiana, which he hopes will become ramen: eggplant marinated in Parmesan cheese, served with garlic oil and spaghetti with chili in fermented Japanese eggplant broth.
Restaurant Monsieur Dior
Many people are well acquainted with the famous designer Dior and his stylish clothing. But does everyone know that the renowned fashion designer Christian Dior was an avid gourmet? The brand decided to pay homage to him by opening an elite restaurant in Paris in 2022, which is worth visiting. Here, you can not only purchase iconic items from famous fashion houses and jewelry, but also rest, get your makeup done, explore the house’s iconic works, enjoy sweets, and dine in a fine-dining restaurant.
This restaurant, proudly bearing the founder’s name, is located in the mythical boutique on Avenue Montaigne.
Renowned chef Jean Imbert offers dishes that are both delicate and simple yet exceptional, through his reinterpretations of great French gastronomy classics, creativity, and generosity.
The restaurant features two distinct but complementary spaces. One room emphasizes purity with its pristine white walls and large mirror (designed by Claudia Wieser).
This space contrasts with the red room, adorned with a composition by Guy Limone, a vast artwork consisting of images tracing the history of the designer and the House of Dior. Additionally, there is a painting by René Gruau, depicting the designer at a table.
Comfortable chairs, dressed in a chic two-tone check pattern matching the room’s tone, as well as tableware from the Dior house collection, and waiters in Dior attire, all create a luxurious atmosphere. The restaurant offers a unique view of the garden.
The space is completed by a patisserie and food corner where gourmets can sit down before classic French pastries and a rare cup of coffee.
Sit back and enjoy truffle croque-monsieur or soft-boiled egg on a caviar cushion, sweet pepper ravioli, or incredible avocado and grapefruit crab. You can also try dishes that Christian Dior enjoyed before each show. The chef has thought of everything to pay tribute to the great designer.
The Blue Box Café
If you have ever seen the classic 1961 film “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” starring Audrey Hepburn, you probably already know what the Blue Box Café is and what it represents. It’s impossible to miss the very beautiful turquoise café on Fifth Avenue in New York.
The Blue Box Café offers a unique take on Tiffany’s coveted gastronomic experiences. New York chef Daniel Boulud, who has been awarded a Michelin star, and Blue Box Café chef Raphaelle Bergeon, present a seasonal menu in this charming, elegant café, including Tiffany’s Breakfast afternoon tea. It is served on a gorgeous silver-tiered stand with tea sandwiches, mini pastries, cookies, and freshly baked scones.
The space, designed by Peter Marino, now includes a private dining area, café, and bar adorned with custom art installations and the signature Tiffany blue color.
Ralph’s Coffee
Since 2014, Ralph Lauren has been opening Ralph’s Coffee shops worldwide, continuing to bring people together and remind them of the true meaning of hospitality. This café has become a welcoming and comfortable spot for busy New Yorkers and visitors to enjoy a cup of coffee.
The café offers a variety of sweet treats and drinks. From Ralph’s signature five-layer chocolate cake to pastries and caramel popcorn.
Ralph Lauren’s favorite sweets – brownies and carrot cakes – are served with a wide assortment of signature coffee blends made from organically grown beans. Of course, there are also exquisite and healthful drinks like matcha and tea lattes in abundance.
