Smart glasses are to be launched
Google is making a return to the world of smart glasses, having signed a deal to acquire $100 million worth of shares in South Korean luxury eyewear brand Gentle Monster.
The agreement is tied to the launch of a new line of XR (extended reality) glasses planned for 2026. This marks Google’s first major move into wearable tech since the Google Glass project over a decade ago. Gentle Monster, known for its unconventional design approach, will serve as a key partner, helping to merge cutting-edge technology with high-end fashion in the upcoming device.
