From September 17 to 21, the Republican Children’s Library in Tashkent will host the international Hamnafas Accessibility Festival. The name Hamnafas, which means “breathing together” in Uzbek, reflects the spirit of unity, openness, and collective action. Five days will be dedicated to equal opportunities and attention to people with diverse experiences. The program is designed for participants of all ages. It will include lectures, workshops, hackathons, concerts, as well as film screenings that explore how people with different needs form friendships, discover their vocation, build families, overcome challenges, and receive support along the way. Among the guests are experts from Canada, the United Kingdom, Russia, and Uzbekistan. The events will be held in Uzbek, Russian, and English.

“From the very beginning, it has been fundamentally important for us to be a barrier-free space – physically, culturally, and humanly,” says Asror Khodjaev, Director of the Republican Children’s Library.

Full program details and registration are available on the library’s website.
