Ilkhom Theatre opens its 50th season
Premiere of “Twenty Days Without War”

Mark Weil’s Ilkhom Theatre has opened its 50th season with the premiere of “Twenty Days Without War.” The production is based on the novella by Konstantin Simonov and the film of the same name by Alexei German. The play was directed by guest director Alexander Plotnikov.
The story follows a war correspondent on a short leave, returning to Tashkent for a few days to escape the brutal reality of the front. It is a production about love, the silence between battles, memory, and inner freedom. The play has been added to the theatre’s repertoire and is now available to audiences. The season’s opening also features the exhibition “The Body I Live In” – a visual exploration of the theatre’s history.
