In fashion’s ring: boxing sneakers as the key trend of fall
From sports gear to the runway – how boxing boots became a 2025 wardrobe must-have

This fall, footwear once found only in the boxing ring is making its way into fashion. High, tightly laced, and flat-soled, boxing sneakers no longer look like mere athletic equipment – they’ve secured their place in the collections of leading fashion houses. Designed for speed and stability, their practical construction also lends everyday outfits a strong, striking silhouette.
The trend emerged from the Spring–Summer 2025 runways. Dior presented knee-high versions, dramatically paired with short dresses and skirts.

Why have boxing sneakers gained popularity so quickly? Firstly, their design is highly functional, with every detail carefully thought out. Secondly, their versatility: high lacing and a flat sole pair just as well with coats and miniskirts as they do with jeans or silk dresses. Finally, the contrast effect – the bold, athletic silhouette highlights the delicacy of fabrics, the volume of outerwear, or unconventional proportions.
No longer a niche item, boxing sneakers are adapting effortlessly to urban style, released in multiple variations – from classic black models to bright versions with colorful laces and inserts. They can be worn with anything, including mini skirts and dresses, wide-leg jeans, or athletic shorts. In cooler weather, they pair well with coats, trench coats, or oversized blazers.
In just one season, they’ve transformed from athletic gear into a full-fledged alternative to sneakers and boots – and it looks like they’re here to stay.
