Celebrating a decade of creativity, Magda Butrym introduces her latest collection, Magdalena – a deeply personal reflection of the Polish designer’s artistic journey while staying true to the brand’s signature aesthetic.

For Fall-Winter 2025, Butrym draws inspiration from the emotional depth of poetry and the textural beauty of knitwear, an art form deeply rooted in Polish heritage. Inspired by the works of Magdalena Abakanowicz, Paulina Ołowska, and generations of Polish artisans, she incorporates handcrafted weaving techniques into key silhouettes, ranging from eveningwear to the very set design of the show.

"This collection is an instinctive, fearless exploration of self, driven by pure emotion and the joy of creation," says Magda.

Magdalena is an intimate and expressive project, blending diverse influences through Butrym’s distinctly Eastern European lens. The collection showcases artistic statement pieces, including a striking red mini dress and an intricately woven lace tutu layered over a sleek black slip, both crafted with innovative threading techniques that sculpt and highlight feminine forms.

Since Magdalena is a deeply personal project, it naturally incorporates elements of Magda’s everyday style. Practicality meets dreamlike elegance: an oversized shearling coat is effortlessly draped over a luxe tracksuit, while plush quilted blanket coats are layered with dramatic shawls. The brand’s signature floral scarf, a tribute to Slavic heritage, also makes an appearance.

"I don’t want to define women. I want to empower them. I want us all to feel comfortable, happy, confident, and bold. We should be our own muses," says Magda Butrym.

A standout feature of the collection is a series of sculpted black dresses with cinched waistlines, echoing the hourglass structure found in traditional Polish folk costumes. These designs pay tribute to enigmatic, strong women, reminiscent of Peter Lindbergh’s iconic photographs, capturing powerful female figures striding across frozen winter beaches.

Bridging innovation with heritage, Magdalena collection embodies a delicate yet powerful spirit – sensual yet commanding, an authentic reflection of Magda Butrym’s world.
