Victorian Gothic of the 19th century
Alexander McQueen has unveiled its new campaign, inspired by Victorian Gothic and 19th-century imagery. The star of the season is model Alex Consani, joined by Athiec Geng, Chu Wong, and Libby Taverner. Creative director Seán McGirr once again partnered with stylist Sarah Richardson to channel the spirit of historical figures such as Oscar Wilde, Vesta Tilley, and Romaine Brooks. Against a stark gray backdrop, the models appear in black and white lace, with windswept hair and pointed boots – as if stepping from the pages of a Brontë novel. McGirr noted that the collection reflects the tension between freedom and restraint, tradition and defiance, and is dedicated to independent thinkers whose originality remains strikingly relevant today.
