Uzbek designers showcase their collections in Paris
The Oriental Fashion Show is an international event dedicated to promoting the rich cultural heritage and modern fashion trends of the East. On January 26, designers from Uzbekistan presented their latest collections in Paris.
«Special attention was given to the ‘Ustoz-Shogird’ (Master-Apprentice) tradition, an integral part of Uzbek culture. Rooted in respect and continuity, this philosophy was vividly demonstrated through the work of Rano Khamroyeva and her students Noila Jalolova, Nargisa Jabarova, and Shakhnosa Muzrapova. Thanks to their dedication and creativity, we were able to highlight how heritage intertwines with modern fashion», – said Samandar Saraev, fashion producer and head of the Uzbek delegation.
The showcased collections told stories deeply rooted in Uzbekistan’s rich artistic traditions, amplified by modern design innovations.
Rano Khamroyeva drew inspiration from the intricate embroidery patterns of Suzani and the vibrant shades of Uzbek textiles for her Rano Collection.
Shakhnosa Muzrapova, through her brand SHAKHAZIZ, paid homage to the elegance of 1940s-1960s fashion, taking inspiration from the wardrobes of grandmothers and great-grandmothers.
Noila Jalolova, a designer from Samarkand, focused on reviving Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage. Her collection presented in Paris beautifully merged historical aesthetics with contemporary fashion elements.
Nargisa Jabarova, hailing from Khorezm, reimagined ancient clothing traditions in a modern context. Each piece in her collection reflects the harmonious blend of national customs and cultural identity, highlighting the richness of Uzbekistan’s sartorial legacy.
The participation of the Uzbek delegation, led by Samandar Saraev, signifies the country’s growing influence on the global fashion scene.
