How the theater awards unfolded
The 78th Tony Awards ceremony took place in New York City. Sarah Snook won the award for ‘Lead Actress in a Play’ for “The Picture of Dorian Gray”, in which she remarkably played all 26 roles herself. The ‘Lead Actor in a Play’ award went to Cole Escola for his performance in “Oh, Mary!”. The award for ‘Best Play’ went to “Purpose”, while “Maybe Happy Ending” was named ‘Best Musical’.
On the red carpet, Cynthia Erivo wore Schiaparelli, Sarah Snook was dressed in Richard Quinn, Sadie Sink appeared in Prada, Sarah Paulson also chose Schiaparelli, Lea Michele wore Michael Kors, and Zoey Deutch dazzled in Elie Saab. Notable attendees included Anna Wintour with her daughter Bee Carrozzini, George Clooney with his wife Amal, as well as Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves.
