Woven for happiness
Carrying raffia bags in summer 2024
Traditionally, woven bags find their place in wardrobes during the summer. These bags are made from raffia, straw, or jute materials. Some people resort to them exclusively during vacations, while others prefer to infuse their everyday urban looks with a touch of summer mood. Some avoid straw bags, finding them complicated and inappropriate.
These accessories are far from demanding. Woven bags are versatile, as they can complement romantic dresses or diversify the usual combination of jeans and a T-shirt or classic trouser suits. In the late 60s, Jane Birkin incorporated woven baskets into her outfits, refreshing and adding expressiveness to them.
If traditional weaving still seems too much, consider the collection by Bottega Veneta – Matthieu Blazy has turned to canvas fabric. Following his example, Prada and Ferragamo have also embraced this style. These bags will logically complement looks with net skirts or linen clothing.
Truly summer options of these bags can be further adorned with various keychains. Shells, strings of beads, crocheted berries, and flowers will come in handy.
