ELLE O‘zbekiston presents its first digital cover

Diyora Keldiyorova became the first female athlete in Uzbekistan’s history to win a gold medal in judo at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Her path to victory has been full of significant achievements, starting with a bronze medal at the Youth Asian Games in Nanjing in 2013 and continuing with multiple victories at the Asian and World Championships.

The athlete is also a recipient of the prestigious Zulfiya Award. She won bronze twice at the Youth Asian Judo Championships in 2016 and 2018. However, 2019 was a pivotal year in her career: Diyora became the Asian Champion in the 52 kg weight category, defeating her Mongolian rival Lkhagvasüren Sosorbaram in the finals of the Asian Championship in Al-Fujairah (UAE).

The culmination of Keldiyorova’s sports career came with her victory at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on July 28th. She brought Uzbekistan its first-ever gold medal at the Summer Olympics, inspiring the nation with her skill and determination.
