Martin Margiela has introduced his first public sculpture, Blinds, situated on Schuttershofstraat, a shopping street in central Antwerp, Belgium. This installation was created in collaboration with the organization Art in the City.

Crafted from luminous materials, Blinds references storefront displays: as people walk by, they can simultaneously see the items and their reflections. Through this piece, Margiela explores the idea of people both seeing and being seen.

The Belgian designer and founder of Maison Margiela left the fashion world in 2009. He reemerged as an artist in 2021, debuting with a solo exhibition of sculptures in Paris.
