Prada brings the magic of classic Disney animation to its holiday campaign
Sadie Sink and Maya Hawke step into a winter fairytale brought to life through hand-drawn animation.
Mice with an eye for a pair of shoes, storybook animals and snow-covered forests populate Prada’s holiday campaign, Drawing Prada. Animated by Hand. The fashion house combines photography and live action with hand-drawn animation that recalls the beloved films of childhood.

Joining Sadie Sink and Maya Hawke are Chen Haoyu, Kelvin Harrison Jr. and Luther Ford. Glen Luchford photographed the campaign, while John Pomeroy led the team of artists. The animator’s credits include Pocahontas, Fantasia 2000 and Atlantis, giving the resemblance to Disney classics a familiar creative connection.

The campaign reflects a wider return to hand-drawn animation and illustration in fashion. Dior and Loewe have also explored these techniques, highlighting the artists behind their visual worlds. As AI-generated imagery becomes more widespread, this choice can be read as a renewed emphasis on human craft, an artist’s individual style and the time invested in every frame.
Prada places that emphasis in the campaign’s name, Animated by Hand. The craftsmanship we usually associate with clothes and accessories becomes the foundation of the advertising story itself.
