Zara opens its first café in Madrid
An interior inspired by the city’s Neo-Moorish architecture
Zara has opened its first café in Madrid – Zacaffè. The interior was designed by Art Recherche Industrie and draws inspiration from the city's Neo-Moorish architectural heritage.
In just three months, the company unveiled the completed café space alongside a retail store. Ramdane Touhami, the founder of the agency, also designed the cups and glasses used to serve beverages to visitors.
Zara’s concept aimed to create a “brand within a brand,” giving the café its dedicated entrance, allowing it to operate independently of the store. Art Recherche Industrie is also working on similar locations in Seoul and Osaka, set to open in 2025.
