Central Saint Martins’ freshmen showcase in London
Invited journalists and fashion industry experts attended the show
The students' main assignment was to work with Ultrasuede, a material resembling suede, and create a look within three weeks.
Stylianos Kamperis presented a top adorned with strips of fabric featuring hand embroidery and appliqué inspired by Orthodox chitons. Gannon Falconer designed a trench coat influenced by 1970s films such as ‘Dolemite’, ‘Foxy Brown’, and ‘Coffy’, exploring themes of extravagance and the display of wealth and status.
Milo Leep showcased a skirt with patches and raw edges, while Paolo Bensimon drew on ancient Egyptian beliefs and rituals related to the afterlife, burial garments, and mummification for his creation.
