Met Gala announces its 2025 dress code

The Metropolitan Museum of Art has revealed the official dress code for the next Met Gala: "Tailored for You." The theme ties into the upcoming exhibition, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” which explores Black dandyism, a strategy and tool for reinterpreting identity and crafting a new sense of self within different cultural contexts.

According to the official statement, the dress code is designed to “offer direction while encouraging creative interpretation.” Monica Miller, co-curator of the Met exhibition, elaborates: “Dandyism raises questions about identity, representation, and mobility concerning race, class, gender, and power.”
