In the heart of Valenza: how Bvlgari is building the jewelry “tomorrow”

At the very core of Italian Valenza, the future is being born today: Bvlgari is opening the world’s largest jewelry craftsmanship center – a place where art becomes architecture and traditions gain a new, sustainable breath. This is not just a new manufactory – it is a whole ecosystem, where care for the planet is combined with the cultural heritage of Made in Italy.

The expansion of the manufactory is an unprecedented project: by 2029, its production capacity will double, and the team of artisans will grow to 1,600 people. Nearly 19,000 new square meters include not only workshops, but also the first-ever public Bvlgari School, where jewelry craftsmanship will be passed on to new generations.

A special atmosphere is born within these new premises: artisans from more than thirty countries around the world merge different traditions in a shared pursuit of perfection. It’s a lively crossroads of cultures and techniques, where everyone brings their own sense of beauty, and each stroke becomes part of the future of great jewelry art.

Sustainable craftsmanship: the gold of tomorrow

The new manufactory is conceived as a model of sustainable development. Nearly half of its energy consumption is covered by geothermal systems and solar panels – more than 4,100 panels decorate the roofs of buildings and parking lots. The air is purified using cutting-edge technology, and every liter of water is used mindfully.

Bvlgari does not simply create jewelry – it creates an environment where beauty walks hand in hand with respect for nature.

Special attention is also given to materials: since 2022, the House has used only gold certified by the Responsible Jewelry Council – this means that every piece comes with a guarantee of ethical sourcing.

The school of the future: investing in craftsmanship

The opening of the first publicly accessible Bvlgari School became a major symbolic step. Here, students learn not only how to create jewelry – they absorb the brand's philosophy, the art of seeing value in every detail, every line, every hand movement.

Partnership with TADS (Tari Design School) allows the merging of traditional techniques with modern methods, and the recognition by the Italian Ministry of Education gives this knowledge official status.

The new school is located between the historic building and the new wings of the manufactory – a symbolic bridge between past and future. Here, they nurture not just artisans but true guardians of the craft.

The expansion project is far more than architecture and numbers. It’s an attempt to redefine luxury in the 21st century: to make it sustainable, open, and humane.

Bulgari is building its manufactory not as a factory, but as a living organism, in which the past and the future intertwine as delicately as the golden threads in a Serpenti necklace.

And perhaps, among the students of the new school, there are already those whose creations will become symbols of an era in decades to come. Because true luxury is not just an object. It is a story in which we are destined to take part.
