Dior
The brand revives its archival motif

Maria Grazia Chiuri revived the archival motif of blooming cherry blossoms for her debut in the Spring-Summer 2017 Haute Couture collection.
This motif paid homage to Christian Dior’s love for Japan. The blooming cherry branches and birds were inspired by the design of the 1953 “Jardin japonais” dress. Chiuri reimagined the motif using embroidery made of feathers, raffia, and organza. The collection also featured accessories crafted from cherry blossom branches.
