Chanel is opening the Le19M exhibition in Tokyo, which will run until October 20. The showcase brings together the brand’s specialist ateliers with both Japanese and French artists and artisans. The exhibition is divided into three main sections: a curated project named Beyond Our Horizons; a Lesage anniversary retrospective, featuring an archive of 75,000 embroidery samples; ATTA installation dedicated to the techniques at Le19M. According to the president of Chanel SAS, the project underscores the value of craftsmanship amid rising costs, a shortage of skilled artisans, and ongoing debates about the origins of luxury. Le19M currently unites 60 specialized workshops, and since its opening in 2021, its Paris headquarters has welcomed 180,000 visitors.
