Uzbekistan Women’s Chess Team Takes Third Place at Championship Among Turkic States

From May 13 to 17, Kazakhstan hosted the team chess championship among Turkic states. The tournament brought together 70 chess players from six countries.

Uzbekistan’s women’s national team finished the competition with 8 points and took third place. The team members also showed strong results on individual boards. Afruza Khamdamova won a gold medal on her board, Umida Omonova and Madinabonu Khalilova received silver medals, while Guldona Karimova earned bronze.

Uzbekistan’s men’s national team finished the tournament in fourth place. Saidakbar Saidaliev won a silver medal on the fourth board.
