When you grow up surrounded by nature, under the blazing Brazilian sun, with tanned passersby carrying surfboards and the scent of freshly cut grass in the air, a love for art emerges naturally. This was the case for Ana Khouri, whose jewelry today captivates with its unique glow and is worn like true art.

A house overlooking the lake

From early childhood, Ana was immersed in an atmosphere where nature and culture coexisted in harmony. She grew up on a farm near Londrina, Brazil, surrounded by horses, a lake, and endless inspiration from her mother, a lawyer and passionate pianist who opened the world of art to her daughter. These two elements – nature and creativity – became the foundation of Ana’s unique vision. She learned to notice changes in color, in the texture of tree bark, and in how a tree transforms through the seasons. This later became the core of her personal method.

Sculpture as the first form

Studying at the prestigious FAAP in São Paulo only solidified her desire to express herself through form. Initially, Ana saw her future solely in sculpture. But a pivotal moment changed everything. At one of her exhibitions, large metal sculptures were worn by naked women, exploring the balance between hard metal and delicate human skin. One viewer asked if she could make something similar, but in miniature, wearable form. That’s how sculpture became jewelry, and the artist realized that functionality doesn’t kill art; it opens a new, more intimate world to it.

Ana’s journey to mastery wasn’t swift or planned. She took her time, learned patience, and mastered the subtleties of metalwork, the interaction between gold and gemstones. Every piece underwent a long journey from sculpture to finished jewelry. Ana Khouri always emphasized that jewelry should be an extension of the body, natural and organic.

The sensation of formlessness

Her brand didn’t fit the mold of traditional jewelry houses. No collections, no seasonal trends, no marketing strategies – just a deep philosophy and dedication to her own vision. She first presented her pieces on a bed in a Paris apartment, where representatives from Net-a-Porter and Barneys came to view them. But even after gaining recognition, Ana declined mass distribution and collaborations with large online retailers, retaining the freedom to create only the pieces that reflected her inner world.

What Khouri brought to the jewelry world was a sense of authenticity and inner light. Her pieces don’t try to dazzle with opulence, but gently highlight a person’s natural essence. They are loved for their ability to be appropriate both on the red carpet and in everyday life. For instance, Irina Shayk wore a massive diamond choker by Ana Khouri at the Met Gala, and it didn’t look out of place even when paired with simple gray sweatpants and a white tank top.

A key element of the brand’s work remains sustainability. Khouri constantly emphasizes that the beauty of her jewelry begins with the ethical treatment of nature and people. The gold used in her work is sourced under high fair-trade standards, and the stones are selected to minimize environmental impact.

The place where it all began

Ana’s latest collection, Raw, was born after a personal visit to gold mines in the Amazon. She plunged her hands into the soil and suddenly realized the importance of that contact with the texture of the earth, its weight, its story. The Raw collection, inspired by this sensation, emerged completely different: rough, uneven, with a new kind of plasticity.

Today, the Ana Khouri brand offers jewelry for those who seek depth, stillness, and authenticity – for those who understand that true radiance comes from within.

And if you ever decide to wear one of her creations, know that it is already waiting for you at a small atelier on 68th Street in New York or select boutiques like The Row.
