Chanel Announces New Creative Director
Karl Lagerfeld's protégé held the position for five years.
For the past five years, Virginie Viard held the position of Creative Director at Chanel. During her tenure, not only did sales increase but the House’s codes were also updated.
Virginie started her journey at Chanel as an intern and gradually climbed the career ladder. In 2019, Viard was appointed Art Director, succeeding Karl Lagerfeld. In total, the designer worked at the brand for 37 years.
The name of the new Creative Director of Chanel is yet to be announced.
