Chanel presents Couture Collection for Fall-Winter 2024
The first line without Virginie Viard.
The House of Chanel held its Fall-Winter 2024 couture collection show at one of France’s most significant venues, the Opéra Garnier. The creative team’s objective was to demonstrate the deep connection between the world of opera and haute couture.
This was the first show without Virginie Viard. The creative director departed after five years in the role and left Chanel after 37 years in various positions within the house.
The show was opened by Vittoria Ceretti, who wore a cape over a beaded top. Capes were a highlight of the collection, adding theatrical flair with their embellishments of ruffles and feathers.
Tweed suits also featured prominently in the couture line. The collection included brocade and gold-threaded dresses, several versions of the little black dress, and numerous evening alternatives. Hair bows complemented the models’ looks.
As tradition dictates, the final look was a wedding gown. The dress featured a silhouette with an embroidered corset, airy sleeves, and a silk taffeta skirt.
