Chasing Myths
Chasing Myths brings classical mythology into contemporary fashion photography, beginning with Diana, goddess of the moon and the wild. Photographed on medium format against a single hand-painted backdrop, the story draws on the light of Renaissance portraiture. There is no forest to place Diana in: her image emerges through a bow, an arrow, a crescent moon and the drape of fabric.
Across five looks, terracotta chiffon gives way to gold satin, ivory, dark silk and red plissé. The photographs move between full-length portraits and close details, revealing the figure piece by piece. Model Lauren Taylor holds the bow with quiet assurance, her gaze directed beyond it. Diana appears as a woman entirely at ease with her own presence.
