Claude Monet’s painting is to be auctioned
For the first time in 125 years, "Water Lilies (Nymphéas)" will go up for auction
Heritage Christie’s Auction House will, for the first time in 125 years, auction Claude Monet’s painting “Water Lilies (Nymphéas).”
Created between 1897 and 1899, this work is one of Monet’s earliest paintings. His own pond inspired him with water lilies at his home in Giverny. “Water Lilies (Nymphéas)” is part of a series of seven paintings titled “Nymphéas.”
The auction will take place on September 26 at Christie’s New Asia Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong.
