Paris Haute Couture Week continues with Maria Grazia Chiuri presenting her latest collection for Dior. Drawing inspiration from the trapezoidal Cigale silhouette and the iconic fabrics used for the Bar Jacket, as well as tailored frock coats and petite skirts, the collection explores the wonder of childhood imagination and Alice’s journey through the looking glass, as Chiuri explains in the show teaser.

Headpieces styled as «mohawks»infused a punk spirit into knee-length crinolines adorned with fringe, butterflies, and intricate floral details. Eighteenth-century lingerie was reinterpreted with cotton panniers, lace-trimmed bustiers, organza bloomers, and delicate undergarments.

Chiuri remained true to her signature color palette of black, white, beige, and gray. The Trapèze line from 1958, created by Yves Saint Laurent for Dior, inspired more understated silhouettes in camel tones. The looks were completed with black knee-high socks and ballet flats reminiscent of pointe shoes.

The show took place in the grand halls of the Rodin Museum, where nine large-scale textile panels adorned the walls. These embroidered artworks, depicting the paintings of Indian artist Rithika Merchant, were created by the Chanakya atelier and its craft school. The imagery incorporated themes of comparative mythology, science, and speculative fiction, perfectly complementing Chiuri’s vision for the collection.
