Elie Saab appoints new handbag designer
Marina Raphael takes the helm
Fashion House Elie Saab has announced the appointment of its new handbag designer, Marina Raphael. She will introduce six handbag collections per year, two of which will be haute couture. Her debut collection is set to be unveiled in January.
“I have long admired Mr. Saab’s incredible vision, his exceptional craftsmanship, and attention to detail. We began discussing a possible expansion last year, and I was honored when they offered me this position in February,” shares Raphael.
“We plan to present new handbag collections not only in stores but also on the runway to enhance brand recognition. Marina’s expertise in this field was immediately evident. With her ability to convey and interpret the Elie Saab aesthetic, she’s a perfect fit for this role,” noted Saab Jr.
Additionally, Marina Raphael will continue as the creative director of her own namesake handbag brand.
