Fashion exhibition at the Louvre
Over one million visitors

The Louvre’s first-ever fashion exhibition, Louvre Couture: Art and Fashion – Statement Pieces, closed on August 24 after drawing an impressive 1.059 million visitors over seven months.
The show brought together 65 contemporary looks and 35 accessories by 45 designers, including Jacquemus, Rick Owens, Iris Van Herpen, and Marine Serre, displayed alongside historic objects of decorative art. Spanning nearly 9,000 square meters, the exhibition was housed in the museum’s Department of Decorative Arts.
Initially scheduled for six months, the project was extended for an additional month due to overwhelming public interest. All participating fashion houses agreed to keep their pieces on view without hesitation.
According to curator Olivier Gabet, the exhibition successfully engaged a younger audience and became the second most-visited show in the Louvre’s history, following the 2019 Leonardo da Vinci retrospective.
