Fashion Scout: Ones to Watch Edition 02 — Eight New Names at London Fashion Week
In Fashion Scout’s milestone 20th season, the Ones to Watch project once again brought together designers worth keeping an eye on. The second part of the programme took place on September 19 as part of London Fashion Week, bringing together eight emerging brands from different countries. At its core are craftsmanship, cultural memory, personal identity and a new perspective on familiar techniques.
ACIDSIIIA
The brand of Kyiv-based designer Anastasiia Pozhydaieva works with Ukrainian craft traditions, translating them into the language of contemporary fashion. Sculptural forms, intricate textures and precise tailoring are combined with handcraft and the use of deadstock materials.

GaMi Lew
Created and handmade in Tokyo, the brand is built around the individuality of each piece. At its core are distinctive silhouettes, draping and a love for the process of creating clothes itself, from sewing to styling and visual storytelling.

Label Astha Garg
Indian designer Astha Garg draws on a family heritage connected to textiles and garment production. She is interested in material, tactility and the ways clothing can be used to explore emotions, perception and a person’s relationship with their own body.

Sanjana Ghosh
Having grown up across five countries, Sanjana Ghosh brings the experience of living between cultures into conceptual womenswear. Experimentation with materials becomes a way for her to tell stories about belonging, identity and the experience of the third-culture generation.

Serina Lee
Between Singapore and London, Serina Lee brings together the tradition of Chinese ink painting, craft techniques and contemporary technology. The principles of the art form, which the designer has practised since the age of seven, form the foundation of her own visual language in fashion.

Shuwen Song / Song Song
Shuwen Song explores the delicate boundary between intimacy, safety and control. Red cords, ribbons, tulle and exposed skin become symbols of attachment and vulnerability, while red, black, white and silver give the collection a tense, almost theatrical tone.

Founded in Lagos by Zainab Kolawole, the brand reinterprets traditional African Aso-oke and Adire textiles. Materials once intended primarily for special occasions are transformed by the designer into a contemporary wardrobe, bringing cultural heritage together with modern silhouettes.

Tyler Von Greenston
Tyler Von Greenston looks at British tailoring through the lens of circular fashion. Fabric offcuts do not become waste but are instead reintegrated into the construction of the garments. Material limitations become part of the design while also raising the question of what a contemporary understanding of luxury can look like.

Over the past twenty years, Ones to Watch has become one of Fashion Scout’s platforms for emerging designers at the early stages of their careers. Names that have taken part in Fashion Scout programmes include Iris van Herpen, David Koma and Phoebe English, while Ones to Watch alumni include Eudon Choi, Susan Fang, Maximilian Raynor and Orange Culture.
