Fondation Cartier unveils model of new building
The space will be located at Place du Palais-Royal, opposite the Louvre
Fondation Cartier has unveiled the model of its new space, set to open at Place du Palais-Royal, directly across from the Louvre. The building, originally constructed in 1855, will undergo restoration under the guidance of architect Jean Nouvel.
The new space will span three floors, integrating all areas of the foundation’s activities, from painting and photography to film and fashion. The museum will also house a bookstore and a restaurant.
The first exhibition will feature between 600 and 700 works from the foundation’s collection, which has been built over the last 40 years. The grand opening is scheduled for the end of 2025.
