Gustaf Westman Brings Mickey Mouse into the Home
The Swedish designer’s Disney collaboration turns familiar character silhouettes into sculptural furniture and playful everyday objects.
Mickey Mouse’s unmistakable ears have found a new setting: Gustaf Westman’s world of rounded forms and expressive proportions. Revealed on 12 October, the designer’s collaboration with Disney draws on Mickey & Friends for a collection spanning furniture, homeware, clothing and accessories.
The first three pieces show how naturally the two visual worlds connect. A ceramic tumbler combines Mickey’s red, black and yellow palette with Westman’s chunky shapes, complete with ears on its lid. A black ceramic cup sits on a character-shaped saucer, turning a coffee break into a small design moment.

The most substantial piece is the Mickey Mouse Sofa. Made in black leather, its exaggerated silhouette gives a familiar cartoon outline an unexpected physical presence. It is an object that invites a second look, even before anyone takes a seat.

Westman’s approach makes recognition part of the design. A curve, a colour or a pair of ears is enough to carry the reference, allowing childhood associations to become part of an adult interior.

The full collection will be unveiled at a free pop-up in Paris from 30 October to 1 November, followed by events in Tokyo on 6–8 November and New York on 13–15 November. Visitors will be able to shop selected pieces before the global online launch on 15 November. The range includes collectible furniture made to order, with selected items also set to be sold at Disneyland Paris.
